This week I have really tried to pay attention to all of the little things in my life, and I have been feeling good because of it. Obviously I am still filled with grief over Nala, but I am slowly starting to accept the reality and am trying my hardest to get back into my normal life. Here’s what I’ve been up to.

A day out with Phil. We had tickets to the Shard and it really cheered us up. We got some pretty pictures and we managed to visit a few places around London too; including bookshops, Lewis Hamilton’s new restaurant Neat Burger and Borough Market. We had a lovely walk despite the rain. I took some potentially lovely pictures on my film camera but I have not yet developed them, so expect them to come later in a seperate post.

Photography books and reading. To be honest, right now, my reading goal has gone completely out of the window. I haven’t been in the right frame of mind and I have learned to accept this. I will pick up on it soon, but I am sooo behind on my reading goal! Oh well. Instead, I’ve been picking up some photography books to learn about different photographers and styles. I’ve had a flick through them already and I am shocked with how inspirational they are. Plus they make great coffee table books. Street photography is my favourite style up to now.

Please send me photography book recommendations if you have any!

Getting cosy. Phil and I have been having cute early nights with chamomile tea. We’ve been sitting up at the opposite end of the bed so we can watch something on my iMac. We’ve gone through Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares and now we’re onto How It’s Made - great show! I’ve been lighting more candles too and preferring them over my essential oil diffuser because they make our room feel cosier. We’ve also been watching the storms in the dark out of the bedroom window for even more cosy feels.

Changing my clothing style. I don’t even know what my style is changing to yet, I just know its changing. As I’m getting older I’m starting to prefer comfortability over fashion and I’m not sad about it. I’m loving my new Topshop Orson blue jeans with every type of jumper I have tucked into it. Pair that with one of my fluffy long coats and a pair of flats or chelsea boots and you have one very comfortable gal who is ready to take on anything.

Planning and productivity. I have been planning my work better and looking over things that I can improve on. It’s got me feeling motivated and excited for what’s to come. I find I spend more time planning these days than I spend actually doing the tasks, but it works and it works good. I want to be more organised this year which is fabulous because I have another excuse to buy more stationary!

What have you been up to this week?
